Things to know

Common questions about this course.

What is the difference between ePILS and standard paediatric first aid?

ePILS is an advanced clinical course accredited by the Resuscitation Council UK, designed for healthcare professionals who may need to manage a critically ill child. Standard paediatric first aid courses (such as Qualsafe Level 3) are aimed at nursery staff, childminders, and non-clinical roles. ePILS focuses on the ABCDE approach, cardiac arrest management, and team leadership in a clinical setting.

How long is the ePILS certificate valid?

The ePILS certificate is valid for one year. The Resuscitation Council UK recommends annual refreshers for life support skills to ensure healthcare professionals maintain competence and stay up to date with the latest guidelines.

Is there pre-course preparation required?

Yes. Before the face-to-face session, you will be registered on our Learning Management System to complete pre-course e-learning modules and a multiple choice question paper. You will also receive your course manual at least two weeks before the course and are expected to read it in preparation.

Can you deliver ePILS at our workplace?

Yes, we can deliver ePILS at your healthcare setting if you have a group of staff to train. This works well for hospital departments, community healthcare teams, and larger GP practices. Contact us on 07958 915146 to arrange on-site delivery.

How many people can attend an ePILS course?

Groups are kept small at a maximum of 6 participants to ensure everyone gets sufficient hands-on practice time with paediatric manikins and emergency simulations.
