Who needs to complete Duty of Candour training?
Anyone working in an NHS-funded or CQC-registered service. This includes nurses, doctors, allied health professionals, healthcare assistants, ward managers, clinical leads, GP practice staff, dental practice teams, and care home staff. Governance, patient safety, and complaints leads also benefit from formal training.
Is this course CPD accredited?
Yes. The course is CPD accredited and the certificate is valid for 3 years. It strengthens your portfolio for NMC, GMC, HCPC, or whichever professional body you are registered with.
How long does the course take?
The course runs as a half day session and covers the statutory and professional duty of candour, when it applies, and how to handle conversations with patients and families after an incident.
Do I need any previous training?
No previous training is required. The course is suitable for clinical and non-clinical NHS and healthcare staff and is delivered at a pace that works for mixed teams.
