Understanding the role and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider

Assessing an emergency situation safely

Providing first aid for an infant and a child who are unresponsive

Providing first aid to an infant or a child with bites, stings and minor injuries

Paediatric CPR and basic life support

Managing asthma attacks in children

Treating burns and scalds

Febrile convulsions in infants and children

This Qualsafe Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid (RQF) is a regulated and nationally recognised qualification which is OFSTED and EYFS compliant. Your trainer is a Registered Nurse with many years of clinical experience within Emergency Departments who trains Advanced Paediatric Life Support to medical and nursing staff in acute hospital environments.

Does this course meet EYFS requirements?

Yes. This is the full Level 3 Paediatric First Aid qualification that meets the Department for Education's EYFS requirements and Ofsted standards for nurseries, childminders, and early years settings.

What is the difference between this and Emergency Paediatric First Aid (1 day)?

The 2 day course is the full qualification required for EYFS registered settings. The 1 day Emergency Paediatric First Aid course covers the core emergency skills but does not meet the full EYFS requirement on its own.

How does the e-learning + classroom format work?

You complete 1 day of self-paced e-learning before attending a 1 day classroom session. The blended format reduces classroom time while covering the full Qualsafe Level 3 syllabus.

How long is the certificate valid?

The Qualsafe certificate is valid for 3 years. We recommend an annual refresher to maintain skills and confidence.
