What is a mental health first aider?
A mental health first aider is someone trained to recognise the signs that a colleague may be experiencing a mental health problem, to provide initial support and reassurance, and to guide that person towards appropriate professional help. They are the first point of contact, not therapists or counsellors.

Our two day Qualsafe Awards accredited Level 3 qualification covers recognising signs and symptoms, having supportive conversations, assessing risk, and signposting to professional services. The certificate is valid for three years.
