
I have practiced as a registered nurse for over 34 years, 29 within a senior nursing position within Emergency Care and as a part time lecturer at the University of Manchester. I am a Resuscitation Council (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group Instructor for Advanced Paediatric Life Support, Paediatric Life Support and Immediate Life Support. I also teach on the Generic Instructor Course, supporting doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals in gaining instructor status to teach on accredited Advanced Life Support courses facilitated by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Advanced Life Support Group.
I hold qualifications as a BSc(Hons) in Specialist Practice (Emergency Nursing), Non Medical Independent Prescriber and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
I have held previous roles as an independent Chair/ Registrant panellist for the Conduct & Competence and Health Committee within the Nursing, Midwifery Council (NMC) Fitness to Practise division, a Specialist Advisior for the Care Quality Commision and sat on the Advisory Committee of the Health Safety Investigation Branch.
Throughout my nursing and teaching career, I have been fortunate to have had some amazing role models, many of which continue to inspire me to this day. Teaching is my passion. Promoting and safeguarding the health and wellbeing of patients has always and continues to be at the forefront of everything I do.
