I have practiced as a registered nurse for over 34 years, 29 within a senior nursing position within Emergency Care and as a part time lecturer at the University of Manchester. I am a Resuscitation Council (UK) and Advanced Life Support Group instructor for Advanced Paediatric and Immediate Life Support and Generic Instructor Course for over 23 years, and hold a BSc(Hons) in Specialist Practice (Emergency Nursing), Non Medical Independent Prescriber and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. I have held previous roles as an independent Chair/ Registrant panellist for the Conduct & Competence and Health Committee within the Nursing, Midwifery Council (NMC) Fitness to Practise division, a Specialist Advisior for the Care Quality Commision and sat on the Advisory Committee of the Health Safety Investigation Branch.
