I qualified as a registered nurse in 2004. During my career, I have worked within Emergency Departments and as a Resuscitation Training Officer within NHS organisations across Merseyside. I have also practiced as a Remote Island Nurse Practitioner in NHS Shetland, a Paramedic Team Leader within NHS Scotland, and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner within the Welsh Ambulance Service.
I also held academic posts as a Lecturer Practitioner, Programme Lead for Advanced Clinical Practice and I am currently Associate Head of Post Graduate Medical Education at Edge Hill University.
I am an Advanced Life Support Instructor and an Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor. I also teach on the Generic Instructor Course, supporting doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals in gaining instructor status to teach on accredited Advanced Life Support courses facilitated by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Advanced Life Support Group.
