I am a Registered Nurse (Adults & Paediatrics) and Lead Nurse / Advanced Nurse Practitioner within a specialised NHS team providing mobile intensive care for critically ill babies and children across the North West region, transferring them to specialist Intensive Care centres. As the Lead Nurse, I oversee nursing standards and the clinical transport team, which includes retrieval nurses, doctors, and ambulance crews. The service offers 24/7 emergency transport, using specially equipped vehicles. It also provides outreach education to local hospitals and works closely with the Children’s Air Ambulance.

I am actively involved in paediatric critical care education, developing simulation training areas for staff on topics such as trauma transfers and the care of sick children. I am an Advanced Paediatric Life Support Instructor and also teach on the Generic Instructor Course, supporting doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals in gaining instructor status to teach on accredited Advanced Life Support courses facilitated by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Advanced Life Support Group. I have previously worked as a Senior Resuscitation Officer at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, Liverpool.

I am Primary Care Training Services Paediatric Subject Matter Expert and support fellow instructors in all aspects of infants and children resuscitation.
