Macclesfield has a strong healthcare presence. There is Macclesfield District General Hospital, a good number of GP surgeries and dental practices across the town and surrounding area, care homes and nursing homes, community health services, and a growing number of private healthcare and therapy practices. All of these settings have one thing in common. Their staff need to be confident and competent in responding to a patient who is critically ill or in cardiac arrest.
That confidence does not come from watching a video once a year. It comes from regular, practical, accredited training that puts you through the scenarios and builds your skills to the point where the right response becomes instinctive.
We are PCT Services, and we deliver Resuscitation Council UK accredited life support training from our training centre at First Floor, 2 Queen Street in Northwich, about a 25 minute drive from Macclesfield. We also deliver BLS training on site at healthcare settings across the area.
eILS: For the clinical team
Our Immediate Life Support (eILS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who may be the first to respond when a patient deteriorates. It combines online pre-learning with a five hour face to face practical session and is accredited by the Resuscitation Council UK.
The course teaches the systematic ABCDE approach to assessing a critically ill patient, which gives you a structured framework for identifying what is going wrong and prioritising your response. You will learn advanced airway management techniques, how to recognise cardiac arrest rhythms, and the skills to lead or contribute to a resuscitation team until specialist help arrives.
This is advanced clinical training. It builds on the knowledge and skills you already have as a healthcare professional and sharpens them for the high pressure moments that matter most. The course costs £180 per person, the certificate is valid for one year, and groups are kept small at a maximum of six, so everyone gets substantial hands on practice time.
In Macclesfield, eILS is relevant for hospital staff, including ward nurses and junior doctors. It is relevant for GP practice clinicians who could be the first to assess a deteriorating patient. It is relevant for dental surgeons, because medical emergencies do happen during dental procedures. And it is relevant for senior nurses and clinical leads in care homes, where residents with complex conditions can deteriorate rapidly.

Immediate Life Support Training (eILS)
The Immediate Life Support course is a specialised course designed to equip healthcare professionals with a variety of skills, from managing a deteriorating adult, identifying causes of deterioration and treating cardiorespiratory arrest in adults, to developing team leadership skills and understanding what it takes to be an effective team member in an emergency.

BLS: For the whole team
Alongside eILS, we deliver Basic Life Support training for the wider healthcare team. BLS is a two hour CPD certified course aligned with CSTF Level 2 standards that covers adult CPR, AED use, and the recovery position. It is designed as a mandatory annual refresher and is suitable for every member of staff in a healthcare setting, from the receptionist to the registered nurse.
Groups can be up to 14, which makes it easy to train an entire GP surgery or care home shift in a single session. For Macclesfield healthcare settings, on site BLS delivery is often the most practical option. We come to your premises, bring all the equipment, and run the session wherever works best. Two hours, minimal disruption, everyone trained.

Basic Life Support Training (BLS)
This Basic Life Support course provides essential knowledge and practical skills to competently recognise a cardiac arrest and commence basic life support in adults, children and infants. It also covers safe application of an AED (Automatic External Defibrillator), how to use a pocket mask, administration of oxygen, and the initial assessment and management of anaphylaxis.

This is relevant for children's nurses, paediatric staff, health visitors, school nurses, and any healthcare professional whose clinical role involves treating children.

Paediatric Immediate Life Support Training (ePILS)
The Paediatric Immediate Life Support course is a specialised half-day training programme designed to equip healthcare professionals with critical skills for managing paediatric emergencies. This Resuscitation Council accredited course focuses on the ABCDE approach, immediate life support techniques, and team leadership skills essential for treating seriously ill or deteriorating children until expert help arrives.
Why Macclesfield healthcare teams choose us
Our instructors are not generic trainers. They are experienced healthcare professionals who understand the clinical environments you work in. When they teach you the ABCDE approach, they are drawing on their own experience of managing deteriorating patients. When they give you feedback on your CPR technique, they know what good looks like because they have done it for real.
All of our life support courses follow the latest Resuscitation Council UK guidelines, which means you are learning the most current, evidence based techniques. We are also CPD certified and a Bloom accredited supplier, so NHS organisations can book through NHS Supply Chain.
