If you run a business anywhere in Cheshire, first aid training is a legal requirement. It does not matter whether you employ two people or two hundred, whether you run a hair salon in Knutsford, a care home in Crewe, a dental practice in Macclesfield, or a pub in Nantwich. Every employer has a duty to make sure there are trained first aiders on site who can respond when something goes wrong.

But finding the right training provider can feel like a minefield. There are online only courses that do not give your staff any practical skills. There are providers who treat it as a tick box exercise. And there are courses that sound right but do not actually meet the legal standard your business needs.

We are PCT Services, and we are based right here in Cheshire. Our training centre is at First Floor, 2 Queen Street in Northwich, which sits right in the heart of the county. From Northwich, we are within easy reach of every major town in Cheshire, from Warrington and Chester in the north to Crewe and Nantwich in the south, and from Ellesmere Port and Runcorn in the west to Macclesfield, Wilmslow, and Congleton in the east. We also deliver training on site at your workplace, wherever you are in the county.

We have a 5.0 star rating on Google with 198 reviews, and we are accredited through Qualsafe Awards and aligned with Resuscitation Council UK guidance. Our instructors are not just first aid trainers. They are experienced healthcare professionals who bring real clinical knowledge to every course.

Which first aid course does your Cheshire business need?

There are two main workplace first aid qualifications, and the right one for your business depends on your risk level and the size of your team.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is a one day course lasting seven hours. It is the standard requirement for most lower risk workplaces across Cheshire, including offices, shops, cafes, restaurants, pubs, salons, and small businesses. It covers CPR, managing an unconscious casualty, choking, wound care, and recognising serious conditions like heart attacks and strokes. It costs £75 plus VAT per person, the certificate is valid for three years, and groups can be up to 12.

The First Aid at Work course is a three day course for higher risk workplaces or larger employers. It covers everything in the one day course plus managing major bleeding, spinal injuries, fractures, burns, eye injuries, poisoning, and anaphylaxis. It costs £195 plus VAT per person, with a three year certificate and groups of up to 12.

For Cheshire businesses in higher risk settings, such as garages, warehouses, manufacturing sites, care homes, and schools, the three day course is usually the right choice. For most other businesses, the one day course will cover your legal requirements.

We serve every corner of Cheshire

One of the advantages of being based in Northwich is that we are genuinely central. Our training centre is easy to get to from anywhere in the county, and we also deliver on site across all of these areas.

In the north of the county, we work with businesses in Warrington, Lymm, Altrincham, and Knutsford. Warrington is one of the biggest commercial centres in the region, and we train everyone from logistics companies and warehouse teams to dental practices, nurseries, and pubs. Lymm, Altrincham, and Knutsford are home to a thriving mix of independent businesses, professional services firms, and hospitality venues that all need their first aid sorted.

In the east, we serve Macclesfield, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, and Congleton. These towns have a strong mix of healthcare settings, independent retailers, salons, schools, and care homes. In the south, we cover Crewe, Nantwich, and Sandbach, where manufacturing, care homes, and small businesses make up the core of the local economy. And in the west, we work with businesses in Chester, Ellesmere Port, Runcorn, and Frodsham, across every sector from hospitality and retail to industrial and healthcare.

Closer to home, we also serve Winsford, Middlewich, and Holmes Chapel, all of which are within just a few minutes of our Northwich centre.

Wherever your business is in Cheshire, we can get your team trained.

On site or at our Northwich training centre

You have two options for how your team trains with us, and both work well depending on your situation.

We have live scheduled courses running throughout the year, so you can pick the dates that suit your team and book directly on our course pages.

We bring all the equipment and set up wherever works best, whether that is an office, a staff room, a community hall, or a warehouse floor. This is a popular choice for businesses that want to train their whole team together, and it works especially well if you have a larger group.
