Following a 35 year career in the chemical industry, I took early retirement to work in the outdoor sector where I hold mountaineering/climbing and paddlesport instructor qualifications. Caring for people in remote locations took me down an educational path of higher first aid and first response qualifications. In my clinical role, I work bank shifts on emergency ambulances (PES), provide medical support for both indoor (large capacity) and outdoor (remote) events, and undertake medical repatriations.
I am also is a freelance trainer delivering First Aid at Work, Outdoor First Aid and Basic Life Support. I hold qualifications in Immediate Life Support and Paediatric Immediate Life Support and First Responder (FREC) and Internal Quality Assurance (IQA).
