I am a Registered Nurse (Adults) and have over 30 years experience in anaesthetics and critical care within the NHS, with 17 years specialising within the Intensive Care Department as a senior nurse. I hold a Diploma in Higher Education and Intensive Care Unit Certification, and I am a Resuscitation Council (UK) instructor for Advanced Life Support and Paediatric Life Support. I also teach on the Generic Instructor Course, supporting doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals in gaining instructor status to teach on accredited Advanced Life Support courses facilitated by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Advanced Life Support Group.

My clinical role involves the care and management of severely ill and injured patients who require advanced airway and ventilator support. My role also extends to delivering educational training within my department and wider within the NHS, teaching and assessing in Advanced Life Support and recognition and management of medical and surgical emergencies. My clinical role has been singled out locally having received a Recognising Excellence Award. I have also undertaken training and examination within the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service in Defibrillation and First Responder Training.

I continue to instruct regularly throughout the year on nationally recognised Adult Advanced Life Support, Immediate Life Support and Generic Course Instructor courses.
