
Sue is a Registered Nurse (Adults) and has over 30 years experience in anaesthetics and critical care within the NHS, with 17 years specialising within the Intensive Care Department as a senior nurse. She holds a Diploma in Higher Education and Intensive Care Unit Certification, and is a Resuscitation Council (UK) instructor for Advanced Life Support and Paediatric Life Support. Sue also teaches on the Generic Instructor Course, supporting doctors, nurses, paramedics and allied healthcare professionals in gaining instructor status to teach on accredited Advanced Life Support courses facilitated by the Resuscitation Council (UK) and the Advanced Life Support Group.
Her clinical role involves the care and management of severely ill and injured patients who require advanced airway and ventilator support. Her role also extends to delivering educational training within her department and wider within the NHS, teaching and assessing in Advanced Life Support and recognition and management of medical and surgical emergencies. Her clinical role has been singled out locally having received a Recognising Excellence Award. Sue has also undertaken training and examination within the Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue service in Defibrillation and First Responder Training.
Sue continues to instruct regularly throughout the year on nationally recognised Adult Advanced Life Support, Immediate Life Support and Generic Course Instructor courses.
